Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has labeled President Donald Trump’s invitation to top holders of his namesake memecoin as an "impeachable offense." The Georgia senator made the remarks during a town hall meeting, asserting that Trump was effectively "selling access" by granting audiences to individuals whose purchases directly enrich him.

The controversy stems from a gala dinner announced Wednesday for the 220 largest holders of the Trump-themed memecoin. Ossoff argues this constitutes improper financial influence, noting it’s just one of many potential violations. The accusation comes amid heightened scrutiny of cryptocurrency’s role in political finance.
